about

In January 2005, the time of George W Bush and wars in Iraq, I travelled to Los Angeles, thanks to a PRS Foundation grant, and wrote this album in a week with my friend and songwriting buddy Danny Black (aka Danny Power). We watched "Don't Look Back" most mornings and then got down to songwriting. It was recorded in a (very enjoyable) day at the end of the same week with Rob Campanella (of Brian Jonestown Massacre) at his studio, with guests including (the one and only) Bobby Bones, Darren Rademaker (The Tyde) and Jason Anchondo (The Warlocks). The mixes were done back in England with Rowland Prytherch, after the addition of harmony vocals by Piney Gir and Cat Martino. The project was mastered by Tim Turan in Oxford and originally released in 2005 on Truck Records. "It Takes No Talent To Party" was a saying attributed to Dave Koenig, who also played bass. Dusty was an old nick-name of mine...
